HDC has been instrumental in getting new programs created and legislation passed that improves the ability of its members to develop and operate low-income housing.

The seven-year Housing Levy will:

  • Provide 1,850 affordablehomesserving thousands of families and individuals over the next 50 years.
  • Continue to help our most vulnerable neighbors including seniors, people with disabilities, victims of domestic violence and working families.
  • Prevent over 3,000 families and individuals from becoming homeless and get them back on their feet for the long term.
  • Build on a successful investment that creates over 4,000 jobs and brings in additional funds to our community.

2010 Priorities

Increase Efficiencies in the Non-profit Housing Industry Identify opportunities to create efficiency.
Develop new leaders for the industry.
Build a Broad Alliance Explore ways to work with other sectors in support of affordable housing.
Create New Resources Promote incentives for for-profit developers to include affordable housing.

Assist in development of new strategies for all of King County.
