Our Work
With 35 years in the sector, HDC is uniquely positioned to foster collaboration toward a shared vision: a future in which all people live with dignity in safe, healthy, and affordable homes.
We Advocate
for funding and policy change to address the affordable housing crisis.
HDC has a proven record of successfully championing new funding for affordable housing development, including $165 mil from the King County Lodging Tax and $78 mil from Mandatory Housing Affordability.
We Broker
cross-sector relationships between partners in the housing sector and beyond.
Our current efforts include collaboration with federal elected officials like Sen. Maria Cantwell and Rep. DelBene to advocate for the 12.5% LIHTC expansion in the 2022 year-end legislation.
We Convene
our 200+ members and the broader community for growth and collaboration.
For 17+ years, HDC and our Tax Credits Affinity Group—the primary user group for the LIHTC program—have served as the interface between developers and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission.
Making a Donation
Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) donations can be made on both 9% projects (before Place in Service) and 4% projects (before close or resolution). To make a LIHTC donation, or for assistance with the donation process, please contact Paige España.
